Sanyo PLC-XU350A Ultra Portable Multimedia Projector
(Okay, Fr. Bob said they needed a projector that works in a large room, that could be seen with the lights
on, that had a wireless computer hook up, good sound, could be mounted on the ceiling, and was
inexpensive...  My eyes started swimming, so we got Sr. Stephanie to look up a projector that fit that
description.  The one above does, but he would be thrilled with something similar. This suggestion and
link is just  to make it easy for someone who is not familiar with this type of stuff but wants to help.)

Mission probably qualifies.  So be sure to check!

CHAPEL/CHURCH SUPPLIES
Now that we are almost done renovating the building, we will soon
need items such as vestments, candles, and the other stuff needed
to celebrate mass and other feast days.  We hope to post more
detailed information on what is needed, but if you are interested in
donating such items (maybe you know a church that closed and has
tabernacles or such things) or maybe you would like to purchase a
particular item for this beautiful historic church.
If interested please contact Fr  Bob at 773-486-8431 for details.

Always Needed!
Canned goods and non-perishable foods & supplies.
Maybe your church or group would like to sponsor a
food drive for the Mission.
The food would be welcome and is needed!

WORKERS!!!!
As you will see from the convent update,
there is still much work to be done by March 1!

A morning or day of sweeping or painting would make a
great service project.

PRAYERS!!!
And speaking of Prayers, just in case you are down and need
a little encouragement, here is a little piece that may help you.
I would give credit to the author but I don't know who
wrote it.  You may have seen it before, but it's good to
keep in mind. Fr. Bob does a lot of P.U.S.H.ing.

    GIVE A ROCK A P.U.S.H.
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared.
The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.
The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did,
day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set squarely against
the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man
returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the
man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing
    thoughts into the weary mind.

“You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn’t moved.” Thus, giving the man
the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged
    and disheartened the man.

“Why kill myself over this?” he thought. “I’ll just put in my time, giving the minimum effort; and that will
be good enough.” And that is what he planned to do, until one day he decided to make it a matter of
prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.

“Lord,” he said, “I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which
you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is
    wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, “My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I
told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done.
Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you
come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at
yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back is sinewy and brown, your hands are callused
from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have
grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven’t moved the
rock. But I asked you to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom.
This you have done. Now I, my friend, will move the rock.”

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He
wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means,
exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains.

When everything seems to go wrong…just P.U.S.H.!
When the job situation gets you down…just P.U.S.H.!
When people don’t react the way you think they should…just P.U.S.H.!
When your money looks “gone” and the bills are due…just P.U.S.H.!
    When people just don’t understand you…just P.U.S.H.!

CAN I DONATE
ONLINE????
NO.
Why not???

Many of you have asked for a way to
donate online.  The problem is that we
have not yet found a system that we
believe adequately protects YOU from
identity theft and/or other problems
that can arise from such online
donation systems and also protects
the Mission from liability arising from
such situations.

Your web master, is not an IT person,
but is, first of all, an attorney who has
read the fine print in the terms and
conditions of such online giving
service agreements.

It would be tempting to add a "Donate"
button to the web site and "hope for
the best," but we love our volunteers
and donors, and we have faith that God
will provide the means  to renovate the
church, finish the convent and support
the programs of the Mission without
putting you at risk.

Fr. Bob  could really use your
donations NOW.  If you are reading this
and would have donated online, we
pray that you will  take a few extra
minutes to write a check, find an
envelope and stamp, and mail your
donation to Fr. Bob.

Fr. Bob does not have money to pay
for a professional web site and, after
extensive research into the various
systems available,  your amateur web
master (and attorney) concluded that
we could not guarantee your online
safety.

Thanks for your understanding.
We ask you to trust God.
Can we do less?
Some of the neighbors near the Mission are in need of refrigerators, freezers, and
small couches/ living room furniture, so if you have one of those items and have a
way to get it to the Mission, please let Fr. Bob know.

Without a doubt, we have the most
AWESOMEST VOLUNTEERS & DONORS!!!
On 11/13/11, we posted a wish list that contained the
items below. We have received them all
and much more.
Thank you for being so overwhelmingly generous.
(Frankly between you and me, when Fr. Bob asked me to post the items below, I thought he was crazy...
I mean, really....  particularly before Christmas-- when everyone is busy with a million other things...
Fr. Bob thanks you so much!
If you have not been to the Mission lately, you should come visit.
It is worth it just to see the beaming smile on Fr. Bob's face.)
