(Thanks!)

38 Battery Alarm clocks,
Soup/salad bowls, Frying pans/skillets,

Donations Would Be Great!
Fencing estimates are in (the building must be secure)-- $10,000.00.
Concrete work($4,500.00) to replace back sidewalk and parking area
(both were ripped up to remove the old oil tank which was rotting and
forming a sink hole in the back yard).

Don't forget: If your company has a Matching Gift program, the
Mission probably qualifies. I work at CNA Insurance Company and
they matched.  So be sure to check!

We hope to have the convent basement, fencing, concrete work and
landscaping completed by the end of the summer-please help if you can!!!

KITCHEN:  Serving utensils(large spoons, spatulas, etc.), pots and pans,
frying pans, basically whatever gadgets are needed in a home kitchen.

GENERAL SUPPLIES;  Toilet paper, napkins, paper towels, kitchen
towels,

CHAPEL SUPPLIES; Vestments, candles for the altar (If interested please
contact Fr  Bob at 773-486-8431 for details.

Also, still needed:

Postage stamps

Front windows
Now this is not a small item...  To replace the front windows would cost about
$25,000, but Father has a group that will volunteer the labor if he can get the
materials.  There are four windows across the front. You can see the windows
that need to be replaced in the picture of the convent on the home page. They
are the ones in the gray area.  Someone else already donated all of the other
windows around the building, except for the basement windows some of
which are broken and will eventually also need to be replaced.   For now, we
need to focus on these front windows so we can properly house the kids
coming to do service work on March 1.  To replace them all is about $8000.  If
you have materials that might happen to work or a favorite supplier that would
help out, that would be great. If you would like to donate any portion of that
amount  toward the windows, that would be swell too.

Insulate the Chapel Windows
The chapel in the convent is so beautiful now.  The only thing that needs to
be done is put the pews and kneelers back in place, insulate the windows
and do a little cleaning.  We'll have an update for you and new pictures
posted by the end of the week!

Always Needed!

Canned goods and non-perishable foods & supplies.
Maybe your church or group would like to sponsor a
food drive for the Mission.
The food would be welcome and is needed!

WORKERS!!!!

As you will see from the convent update,
there is still much work to be done by March 1!

A morning or day of sweeping or painting would make a
great service project.

PRAYERS!!!
And speaking of Prayers, just in case you are down and need
a little encouragement, here is a little piece that may help you.
I would give credit to the author but I don't know who
wrote it.  You may have seen it before, but it's good to
keep in mind. Fr. Bob does a lot of P.U.S.H.ing.

    GIVE A ROCK A P.U.S.H.

A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light, and God appeared.
The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.
The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might. So, this the man did,
day after day. For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down; his shoulders set squarely against
the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might. Each night the man
returned to his cabin sore and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain. Since the
man was showing discouragement, the Adversary (Satan) decided to enter the picture by placing
    thoughts into the weary mind.

“You have been pushing against that rock for a long time and it hasn’t moved.” Thus, giving the man
the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure. These thoughts discouraged
    and disheartened the man.

“Why kill myself over this?” he thought. “I’ll just put in my time, giving the minimum effort; and that will
be good enough.” And that is what he planned to do, until one day he decided to make it a matter of
prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.

“Lord,” he said, “I have labored long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which
you have asked. Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter. What is
    wrong? Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, “My friend, when I asked you to serve Me and you accepted, I
told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done.
Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it. Your task was to push. And now you
come to Me with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed. But, is that really so? Look at
yourself. Your arms are strong and muscled, your back is sinewy and brown, your hands are callused
from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard. Through opposition you have
grown much, and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have. Yet you haven’t moved the
rock. But I asked you to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom.
This you have done. Now I, My friend, will move the rock.”

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He
wants, when actually what God wants is just a simple obedience and faith in Him. By all means,
exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves mountains.

When everything seems to go wrong…just P.U.S.H.!
When the job situation gets you down…just P.U.S.H.!
When people don’t react the way you think they should…just P.U.S.H.!
When your money looks “gone” and the bills are due…just P.U.S.H.!
    When people just don’t understand you…just P.U.S.H.!

CAN I DONATE
ONLINE????
NO.
Why not???

Many of you have asked for a way to
donate online.  The problem is that we
have not yet found a system that we
believe adequately protects YOU from
identity theft and/or other problems
that can arise from such online
donation systems and also protects
the Mission from liability arising from
such situations.

Your web master, is not an IT person,
but is, first of all, an attorney who has
read the fine print in the terms and
conditions of such online giving
service agreements.

It would be tempting to add a "Donate"
button to the web site and "hope for
the best," but we love our volunteers
and donors, and we have faith that God
will provide the means  to renovate the
church, finish the convent and support
the programs of the Mission without
putting you at risk.

Fr. Bob really needs your donations
NOW.  If you are reading this and would
have donated online, we pray that you
will  take a few extra minutes to write a
check, find an envelope and stamp,
and mail your donation to Fr. Bob.

Fr. Bob does not have money to pay
for a professional web site and, after
extensive research into the various
systems available,  your amateur web
master concluded that we could not
guarantee your online safety.

Thanks for your understanding. We
ask you to trust God.
Can we do less?
